(Info)

I'm Chris, a designer and creative director who has spent over a decade making brand identities, interfaces, and campaigns, and has never stopped making them myself.

(Background)

Right now I'm leading a ground-up rebrand at Adaptive Security, an AI security startup. Before that I spent 2025 at Intercom, a studio whose work I'd admired for years before I got to join it, where I owned design for their annual Pioneer conference. Most of my career was nearly ten years at L+R, leading small teams through brand and product work, after starting out at Hamagami/Carroll. [Personal line: where you're from, where you live, something outside work.]

(Approach)

I've done both halves of the job: setting the direction, and making it work across a keynote, a poster, a product screen, and everything in between. Doing both changed how I direct. I try to make ideas that survive production, and I stay on the tools so they do. Most of my attention goes to the last 5%. Spacing, timing, type at small sizes. The part people only notice when it's missing.

(AI Usage)

Yes, a lot. I've built small generative tools that shaped real brand work, and it helped me build parts of this site. It's a fast collaborator with no taste of its own, which works out, since that part's my job.
